When Rabindranath Tagore was once asked why he traveled so much, he answered: ‘in order to see properly.’ Similarly, my work is based on observation and photographing what shows itself to me. Looking at the world as if itself is a photograph, I focus on the relationship between the world and its appearance to suggest that we are not independent from what we are looking at. Instead, anything seems to become everything only in relation to something else. In other words, the documentary nature of my photography is not used to reproduce what I see, but rather to see what I document.
The Book of Body

The Book of Body predstavlja senzualno i delikatno žensko tijelo. Koliko god jedna mlada žena željela sebe da otkrije, toliko strahuje da neće biti shvaćena. I prihvaćena. Njen erotičan pogled zavodi svjesno, dok diskretnim pokretima ruke, prekrivanjem lica, zaranjanjem u vodu, ukazuje na njenu nesigurnost u tome. Pokazuje jaku želju da se otkrije, dovoljno da bi zaintrigirala i zagolicala maštu, i potom se vratila u školjku.
Fotografije su nastale “out of the blue“ 2015 g. Nastale u jednom neprofesionalnom okruženju, postale su savršena priča. Emotivna, lična, empatična, senzualna, isto tako i stidljiva.

Neretko se događa da ljudi, u pojedinim javnim i privatnim prostorima, smatraju da su skriveni od pogleda drugih. Njihovo ponašanje bi verovatno bilo drugačije da su svesni da ih pažljivi posmatrači ipak vide.
U seriji fotografija Izloženi usmerio sam pogled prema ljudima koji se nalaze u sopstvenim vozilima, koje smatraju intimnim prostorom, ne razmišljajući da ih od javnog prostora deli samo automobilsko staklo. Fotografisao sam skriven, kako moje prisustvo ne bi uticalo na ponašanje posmatranih osoba.

Scape (engl.) je prizor, mesto i kontekst unutar kojeg istražujem subjektivni doživljaj prostora, nastojeći da se odmaknem od tradicije pejzaža kao pukog beleženja impresija. Osećaj kretanja u stanju mirovanja naslućuje se u prizorima intimne beskrajnosti. Fotografije nisu samo objekti, već postaju mesta drugačije, nepoznate realnosti u nepoznatom, apstraktnom prostoru. One beleže “viziju pogleda koji je svoj fokus fiksirao u beskonačnom.”

Već duže od pola godine u srcu Beograda, u tri napuštena i urušena hangara u nekadašnjoj Savamali, događa se izbeglička agonija na granici humanitarne katastrofe. Do skora gotovo nevidljivu, pravu dimenziju pakla za više stotina ljudi iz Afganistana i Pakistana zarobljenih u Beogradu na putu da se domognu druge strane bodljikave žice, razotkrila je zima. Prvi sneg i debeli minus otkrili su “Alepo u malom”.

Balet je čest subjekt fotografske kamere. Hiljade igrača fotografisano je u različitim pozama, na različitim lokacijama.
Après je spontani nastavak istraživanja portreta nesvesnog i moj pokušaj da prikažem emociju i energiju koju igrač nosi kada izađe sa scene. Još uvek ne raspršenu euforiju poslednjeg čina.
Zato je bilo ključno da fotografski set bude postavljen direktno iza kulise, koristeći se crnim zidom pozorišta kao pozadinom, kako bi igrač odmah po završetku predstave mogao da sedne pred kameru, čuvajući tako veći deo te energije.

This series was excavated from self-psychoanalysis as well as some from Freud’s experience of photography. He used photographs of archeological artifacts and renaissance art as a source for exploration, learning and research, inextricably linking the early 20th century art of photography with psychiatric observation. Regarding this photos and its fragmentary nature might be considered as a part of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy methods like writing or meditation, or so called photo-psychology. This kind of captures should allow subconscious to speak, to illuminate and clarify our thoughts.

YU: The Lost Country was originally conceived as a recreation of a homeland that was lost. It was a journey in which I would somehow draw a magical circle around the country that was once mine and in doing so, resurrect it, following Roland Barthes’ assertion that photography is more akin to magic than to art. Instead, it turned out to be a journey of rejection. My experience was one of displacement and a sense of exile that was stronger back ‘home’ than in the foreign place where I had chosen to live.

Portrayals of North Korea tend to veer into extremes: either
sensationalistic demonization on one side, or ungrounded idealization and
staging on the other. Both portrayals erase the actual human beings who live
there. Instead of this, I wanted to build a project focusing on the group that
forms the core of every society - people. People of different ages, statuses
and occupations that anyone, anywhere could identify with. It seemed simple, but it quickly became clear why there aren't many similar projects around.

These are photographs of different surfaces found in Berlin. Dirty containers and old walls contain a world of their own that can be epic in scale. Small as it is, it is usually hidden from our view, but it is there if you look close enough. When you do, some motifs immediately catch your eyes as you recognize a familiar concept. But more often less distinguished and seemingly less attractive surfaces, with their complex forms and patterns, produce the most striking images. It’s just a matter of removing the context and replacing it with a new one.
